Kathy Holmes is passionate about identifying business challenges and finding common sense, cost effective solutions for organizations . She brings expertise in the areas of payroll, benefits and human resources (HR). In her 21-year career she led HR for a financial services firm that grew from 175 employees in the Midwest to a publicly traded fortune 500 company with 1,200 employees worldwide.
Kathy focuses on positively impacting the way organizations engage and develop their employees. She designs processes that align corporate energy towards a common goal. A Human Asset Consultant has a unique opportunity to partner with all areas of an organization to facilitate and align the Human Assets and the Organizations Vision towards execution of results. Kathy believes in promoting a culture that encourages employees through relationship building and creating an effective flow of ideas. She believes developing this culture is extremely important to an organization’s performance, creativity and agility.
As a Human Asset Consultant, Kathy will actively listen to the goals and vision of an organization and work with leadership to identify the needs of the organization based on current and long-term growth strategies. She will recommend, implement, and administer actionable solutions tailored to each organization.
Kathy began her career in financial services, specializing in commodity risk management, as a payroll administrator reporting to both HR and accounting. She quickly proved she was capable of taking on progressively more responsibility. She became a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) with the American Payroll Association, a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and most recently a Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR). Kathy spearheaded HR due diligence and integration of 5 major acquisitions and mergers. She built a human resources cross-functional team culture that provided the foundation for continuous growth of the company’s strategic and administrative needs. In 2014, she led the evaluation of the firm’s health benefit plan, resulting in the transition to a fully self-insured medical and dental plan. Ultimately, Kathy’s responsibilities for payroll, benefits and HR supported 1,200 employees and included oversight for corporate HR administration overseas, with the largest offices being in London and Brazil.
In search of new challenges, Kathy left the fortune 500 financial services firm in 2015 and worked as the Human Resource Practice Leader with e2E, LLC until June 2017 when she took the leap to start her own consulting practice, Holmes Connections, LLC. Kathy and her husband have 2 adult children Dustin & Ashley, son-in-law Chris, Grandparents to angel Jackie and Nolan. Kathy is a huge TedX fan, loves to read, novice interior fixer-upper, and a certified lifelong learner.
